Their
home

the

community.

Newsome's

the
fight
for
social
justice
for
African
Americans
in
Southeastern
Virginia.
He was
a
premier
black
attorney
in
Southeast
Virginia.
He was
a
editor
for
The
Newport
News
Star,
a
weekly
black
newspaper,
and a
prominent
church
leader.
